bondingb.'s code of ethics for the recruitment of healthcare professionals and trainees from abroad.
Preamble
In view of the demographic development as well as the increasing shortage of qualified nursing staff, German institutions of the healthcare system such as hospitals, nursing facilities, outpatient services are dependent on the recruitment of professionals and trainees from abroad in order to be able to continue to provide their services. As a recruitment agency, bondingb. is responsible for the recruitment of medical professionals and trainees from abroad to German healthcare institutions.
As our candidates leave their home countries to work in the German healthcare system and in a new country, all parties involved are confronted with various challenges. Our code of ethics serves to ensure that we and all those involved in the placement process act responsibly. Our partners, candidates and clients, as well as all others involved in the recruitment process, can refer to the following principles.
The aim of our code of ethics is to promote transparency and create fair standards in the recruitment of medical professionals and trainees from abroad. Therefore, this code of ethics is published. In addition, our code of ethics enables us to systematically monitor the quality of all corporate decisions according to ethical criteria.
1 – Mutual responsibility
We ensure that our candidates are contracted to healthcare facilities that represent our values and comply with our ethical principles. Our clients must be able to pay our candidates an appropriate salary and support them in coping with the entry requirements in Germany. We as bondingb. as well as our international partners are responsible for the latter. Together we support the candidates in learning the German language, in applying for a visa and in the recognition of educational and professional qualifications. In Germany, we as bondingb. also support the candidates in mastering further entry requirements in Germany, such as finding an apartment, understanding and coping with intercultural differences, or concluding contracts (e.g. mobile phone, Internet) and insurances (e.g. liability, household contents) in a legally secure manner. Our team is available to advise candidates on their concerns and personal questions.
2 – Voluntariness of the candidates
People from other countries are often highly motivated to get a good education and pursue a professional career in Germany. It is also likely that they are sometimes burdened by the expectations of their families or others. Therefore, all parties involved in the hiring process must ensure that candidates have voluntarily chosen to pursue a career in Germany. In the first step, this task is performed by our local partners through personal interviews with the candidates. In the next step, we as bondingb. check the criterion of voluntariness - on the one hand through exchange with our local partners, and on the other hand through our intensive screenings and personal interviews with the candidates. We consider a decision to be voluntary only if candidates are aware of the (probable) consequences of their decision, if they welcome or consciously accept them, and if they can choose between at least two different possible courses of action that do not violate their human rights.
To ensure this, our candidates from abroad receive from us as bondingb. as much information as possible about the situation in Germany, for example, about working and living conditions, the social security system, as well as their freedoms, rights and duties in this country. We also inform the candidates about the conditions under which they can return to their home country. In addition, our coaches, psychologists and recruiters support the candidates in determining their own personal and professional values and goals.
3 – Intercultural competence
Tolerance and respect are core values that we as bondingb. live and that we equally expect and promote in our partners, clients and candidates. We want to respect, accept, appreciate and value the rich diversity of cultures, languages, values and beliefs of our world. Therefore, we expect from everyone involved in the recruitment process a sense of tolerance and respect for foreign customs and traditions, as well as for all people we meet.
We do not want to work with people who hold racist or other discriminatory views. Therefore, we choose our partners and clients very carefully. But we do want to live tolerance and respect - and give everyone the chance to learn and develop. Through knowledge, openness and communication, our trainings and coachings aim at imparting such inter- and transcultural competences in order to promote a respectful and tolerant coexistence. We want to encourage individuals to collaborate with individuals of other cultures - and to recognize the benefits of cultural exchange. It is our personal commitment to accompany our candidates sensitively and to support our clients in realizing the potential of a diverse team. We want a new, cross-cultural mindset in Germany and worldwide.
